HHM Releases 2020 Community Report

The lawyers and staff at Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell, Ltd. are dedicated to supporting the Mahoning Valley. We provide financial and in-kind support throughout the year to organizations that support economic development, healthcare, education, the arts, food distribution, youth sports and much more.

Support for Community Organizations & Events

Although many events were canceled because of COVID-19 concerns, HHM lawyers were glad to be able to contribute financial support or time to local organizations and events.

Education
  • Columbiana County High School Athletics – Shawna L’Italien was glad to support various local schools’ athletic programs.

  • John F. Kennedy Catholic School Just for Kicks Auction – Kevin Murphy and Patrick Wilson were among the sponsors of JFK’s annual Just for Kicks event.

  • John F. Kennedy Catholic School Goal Liners Golf Outing – Patrick Wilson was pleased to support the JFK Goal Liners Golf Outing, which benefited JFK Catholic School’s Boosters.

  • John F. Kennedy Catholic School Athletic Booster Club – Patrick Wilson, Kevin Murphy and Michael McGee were pleased to support JFK athletics.

  • Warren G. Harding High School Football Association – Matthew Ries was proud to support Warren G. Harding’s football program.


Community Activities
  • Jewish Community Center’s Suzi Solomon Golf Classic – Neil Schor was pleased to be an Eagle Sponsor for this annual event at Squaw Creek Avalon Country Club.

Arts & Theater
  • Easy Street Productions – The firm was pleased to support the theatre group’s special TV edition of “Miracle on Easy Street” in December.
 
Health
  • Children’s Circle of Friends Foundation’s Night at the Races – The firm was a sponsor of the foundation’s annual Night at the Races event, which supports the programs and services at Alta Behavioral Healthcare.

  • Sight for All United – The firm is glad to be among the donors that supported this organization’s work in 2020.

 
Civic & Charitable Causes

  • Northeast Ohio Adoption Services Golf Outing – Kevin Murphy was glad to support the special needs adoption agency’s annual Play It for the Kids Golf Outing at Trumbull Country Club.

  • Leadership Mahoning Valley Government & Justice Day – Neil Schor and the firm were pleased to sponsor the event, which introduced the 2020 Leadership class to local justice and government organizations. Neil serves on the LMV board of directors and was the event’s chairperson.

  • Salem Area Chamber of Commerce – The firm and Shawna L’Italien are glad to support the chamber throughout the year as Bronze-level sponsors, and have provided financial support for its annual community projects, including the downtown Salem planters. 

Service to Nonprofit Boards & Committees

murphy-150x150Kevin Murphy was appointed to the Ohio State Bar Association’s Commission on Judicial Candidates, which screens candidates for the Ohio Supreme Court. This is his fourth consecutive time serving since 2014. Read more about the OSBA here.

 

Abbey-Rhein-150x150Abbey Rhein was appointed to the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County board. The nonprofit charitable organization rescues, rehabilitates and adopts neglected and abused animals of Trumbull County. Read more about the league here.
